About
This 25-minute class introduces the foundational principles of using a length of doweling as a yoga prop within a selection of accessible standing poses. Designed for beginner and intermediate students, the sequence provides a clear and methodical approach to understanding how the doweling can assist posture, improve upper back mobility, and create greater awareness through the shoulders and chest. Familiar standing poses such as Tadasana, Trikonasana, Virabhadrasana I and II, Parsvottanasana, and Prasarita Padottanasana are used to reinforce essential actions and alignment concepts in a steady and approachable way. By holding the doweling behind the back in selected poses, students learn how to encourage lift through the chest, improve mobility in the thoracic spine, and reduce habitual rounding in the upper body. The class offers a supportive introduction to this therapeutic prop method while also helping to prepare students for more advanced doweling sequences in the future.
