Seated Pranayama – Weekly Intermediate Class 197

Focus: This class features seated pranayama. It will be beneficial for students who are already familiar with the foundations of pranayama but will also be an ideal introduction for newer students. Pranayama is the aspect of yoga that explores breathing and breath regulation. It is commonly practiced after restorative poses that help to heighten breath awareness and prepare your mind for connecting with the subtlety of the breath. In addition to having a calming effect on both a physical and mental level, pranayama can also help to lift energy if needed.  It can leave you feeling more balanced, focused and productive. 

Key Poses: Seated ujjayi pranayama.

Equipment: Mat, chair, bolster, 2 blankets, block, belt.
