Strength – Weekly Intermediate Class 146

Focus: Build strength this week with the latest Yoga Selection intermediate class. Featuring strengthening poses from a variety of different pose groups, the sequence as a whole will help to strengthen each of the main muscle groups in your body. In addition to using the class to help improve overall body strength this class will also help to prepare you for working with the challenging group of asanas known as arm balances. The class initially focuses on preparatory inverted poses to build your confidence in supporting your body weight with your arms. Arm balances require strength not only in the chest and arms but also the abdomen and legs. Hence the class also includes specific poses for these regions as well. 

Key Poses: Utkatasana, sirsasana preparation, chaturanga dandasana, vasisthasana, urdhva prasarita padasana.

Equipment: Mat, 2 blocks, blanket.
