Explore Ardha Padmasana (Half Lotus Pose.) In this class we’ll be focusing on Ardha Padmasana, along with variations and techniques to help you build a solid understanding of this key seated pose. We’ll start with some preparatory poses such as Sukhasana, Baddha Konasana, and Janu Sirsasana. These initial poses are crucial for building a foundation for the half lotus. Our approach includes practicing Ardha Padmasana initially in a reclining position, with your legs up against a wall. This method minimises the risk of knee strain while allowing you to familiarise yourself with key aspects of the pose. We’ll also explore Kamalasana, a wide-kneed version of the pose, performed with supports. This will help you focus on the external hip rotation needed for the full pose. The class is structured to cater to your individual pace, allowing you to either stay at one stage or move forward as you feel comfortable.
