Extended Intermediate Sequence – Weekly Intermediate Class 244

Focus: Consolidate the foundations of intermediate yoga and clarify the transition between this level and the beginner stage. Challenge yourself with this 1 hr 40 min class. It consists of an extended sequence that includes key poses from multiple asana groups. Consolidate your standing poses, forward bends, backbends and twists whilst building momentum with inversions such as handstand, headstand and shoulderstand. It will strengthen and mobilise your whole body whilst improving each area of your intermediate yoga practice.


Key Poses: Standing poses, forward bends, backbends, inversions.


Equipment: Mat, chair, bolster, blankets, 2 blocks, belt.


Level: Intermediate


Duration: 100 min

    This is a really good comprehensive session. I really enjoyed it. Still can’t do the handstand and shoulder stand prep up against the wall though. Can’t get my legs at 90 degrees. Not sure why.

      Hi Janet, I am glad you enjoyed the class. Generally, you require arm/ upper body strength to bring your legs down to a 90 degree angle. The more you practice these poses, the more strength you will build and the easier you will find this.
