Focus: This class guides you through some basic preparatory backbends like salabhasana, urdhva mukha svanasana and ustrasana. It then heads in the direction of chair backbends exploring viparita dandasana from the perspective of someone who might be new to the pose. The basic foundation points of this asana are highlighted, and initially a version of the pose is practiced that will be accessible for people working with neck difficulties or upper back stiffness. This well balanced class follows typical Iyengar sequencing, and will be beneficial for a range of experience levels.
