About
This 60 minute class alternates supported and unassisted versions of essential standing poses to show how props can deepen access to certain asanas rather than just reduce energy output and effort. Using a chair, blocks, and the wall, you reduce the muscular load of holding the shape so you can work with clearer, deeper direction in the hips, shoulders, and spinal rotation. The supported phases help you map key actions and create space; the subsequent classical phases let you apply those actions with better alignment, stability, and depth. You’ll move through Trikonasana, Parsvakonasana, Virabhadrasana II, and Parivrtta Trikonasana, comparing what changes with and without support. It’s an effective way to identify otherwise unnoticed restrictions and is particularly useful for unlocking hip stiffness.
