Introducing Forward Bends

Class Three

In this class, you will continue to build your understanding of the basic standing poses, which are fundamental to a strong yoga practice. These poses have a corrective effect on the whole body, helping to strengthen weak areas and open up areas that are tight or restricted.

As you practice the standing poses, you will start to become more aware of your body and how it moves. You will learn how to engage your muscles properly, activate your core, and maintain proper alignment throughout the poses.

In addition to the standing poses, you will also begin to explore newer seated poses. These poses are equally important and will help you to develop a deeper understanding of the principles you are learning. You will learn how to support your spine in seated positions, ensuring that you maintain proper alignment and avoid putting unnecessary strain on your back.

By the end of the class, you will have a greater understanding of how the standing poses and seated poses work together to create a balanced yoga practice. You will have learned how to apply the principles you are learning while practicing the standing poses to newer seated poses, and you will be well on your way to building a strong foundation for your practice.

Improve Shoulder Mobility

Class Four

As you practice the techniques in this class, you will begin to notice how much tension is stored in your shoulders and how releasing it can make many of the yoga poses more accessible. You will also learn how to engage the muscles in your shoulders properly, which will help you to maintain proper alignment and avoid injury.

In addition to improving shoulder mobility, elevating your legs in a restorative pose can help to reduce stress and tension in your body, and promote relaxation. By the end of the class, you will have a greater understanding of how to improve the mobility of your shoulders and the importance of incorporating restorative poses into your yoga practice for a more balanced and relaxing experience.

Deepening Your Practice: Seated Poses, Forward Bends, and Twists

Class Five

In this session, you will continue to build on your previous progress in shoulder mobility and deepen your understanding of downward facing dog pose. With the knowledge and experience gained in prior classes, you can approach this pose with confidence and focus on refining your alignment and technique.

Throughout the session, you will also explore a wider range of standing and seated poses, including twists. Twists can be highly beneficial for your spine health as they improve spinal mobility, increase circulation to the spine, and release tension from your back muscles.

As you continue to practice twists and other poses, you will notice an increase in your sense of stability and control, as well as a greater awareness of your body and breath. This mindfulness can have a powerful impact on your overall health and wellbeing, helping you to manage stress, reduce anxiety, and cultivate a greater sense of calm.

With each class, you will continue to develop a strong foundation and build confidence to advance your practice.
