About
In this class, we explore the connections between standing and seated forward bends, focusing on Parsvottanasana, Paschimottanasana, Upavistha Konasana, and Triang Mukhaikapada Paschimottanasana. Each of these poses presents unique challenges, particularly when dealing with stiffness in the hamstrings, adductors, and lower back. Through a series of five variations of Parsvottanasana, we progressively deepen into the standing forward bend, preparing the body for the seated asanas. The class integrates the use of a chair and wall support to guide you towards an understanding of essential actions over forcing against limitations. You’ll learn how the feet and legs support the spine, how to open the chest, and how to prevent upper back rounding—all key elements for advancing your practice. By exploring multiple variations, this class caters to both experienced practitioners seeking depth and those looking for greater ease.
