Course Overview

Description

Challenge yourself with this 8-part course featuring longer duration (60+ min) classes. Inversions are included in each class alongside sequences that feature each of the main asana groups: standing poses, forward bends, backbends and restorative poses. The key inversions sirsasana (headstand) and sarvangasana (shoulderstand), or their commonly used alternatives are included in every class. Each individual lesson within the course forms a complete, balanced yoga practice.

There are many benefits that flow from the regular practice of inversions. They can be both energising and calming whilst creating an overall sense of balance, they can assist with venous and lymphatic drainage, building core strength and fostering mindfulness. Inversions form a key part of Iyengar yoga and are practiced regularly as students start to move through the intermediate and advanced levels.
