Backbends: the basics. This class guides you through some basic preparatory backbends like salabhasana, dhanurasana, urdhva mukha svanasana and ustrasana. It then explores chair backbends from the perspective of someone who is still consolidating the fundamentals of poses like viparita dandasana. The basic foundation points of this asana are highlighted, and initially a version of the pose is practiced that will be accessible for people working with neck difficulties or upper back stiffness. In addition to being well suited to newer students this class will also be beneficial for a range of experience levels.
