Yogic Philosophy
Delve into the fascinating and ancient world of yogic philosophy in this discussion group. References to pranayama, asana and yogic disciplines date back as early as 1100 BC. These ideas were most famously synthesised by Patanjali much later in 400 CE. He explored various concepts, including spiritual self-inquiry and practice, human psychology, the realisation of freedom and the quest to reach our highest potential as human beings. Much of the thinking remains highly relevant and insightful today. This group serves as a place to discuss your understanding and opinions about yogic philosophy, how it relates to your life and its application in your yoga practice. Yogic Philosophy 5 years, 4 months agoI am interested in learning more about Yogic philosophy but feel it is such a vast area that it can be hard to know where to begin. I have heard that ”The Yoga Tradition” by George Feuerstein is a good resource. However I feel quite intimidated by its size and detail. Has anyone read this? I am curious to know what others think. Maybe there might be an easier book to start learning from?
