Focus

This class features twists and gluteal lengthening poses. By integrating these two types of asanas, you can unlock a synergy that brings balance and freedom to your pelvis and spine. By cultivating mobility in the gluteal muscle group, you’ll discover newfound ease and fluidity in your spinal twists, allowing for deeper and more rewarding experiences on the mat. Additionally, this can help to alleviate tension in the surrounding spinal muscles, reducing their strain and optimising your overall practice. Restricted mobility or tightness in the gluteal area can hinder your ability to fully engage in twisting poses. With this in mind, this sequence focuses on gluteal opening variations of asanas such as eka pada rajakapotasana, ardha matsyendrasana, and a series of cross-legged seated positions. With equal emphasis on both twisting and gluteal opening actions, you’ll not only mobilise your glutes but also refine your twisting abilities.
