About
This 40-minute class explores the wrists through a thoughtfully sequenced practice designed to improve both mobility and strength. You do not need to be experiencing wrist discomfort to benefit from this class. Focusing on a single body region often reveals new perspectives on familiar poses, helping to deepen your understanding of alignment and movement throughout the practice. The sequence begins with gentle mobility work that explores the wrists through their full range of movement. Variations of familiar poses such as Uttanasana and Adho Mukha Svanasana progressively rotate the hands through a wide range of positions, improving flexibility and encouraging balanced movement through the wrist joints. The class then develops wrist strength using intelligently sequenced weight-bearing poses, including Chaturanga Dandasana, Urdhva Mukha Svanasana and Vasisthasana. Key actions are first established in lighter, more accessible variations before gradually progressing towards fuller body weight, allowing strength and stability to develop with confidence and control. Alongside improving wrist health and resilience, the sequence also provides an excellent opening for the shoulders and upper body, making it a valuable practice for anyone wishing to build stronger, more functional foundations for their yoga practice.
