Hi there,
I thought I would take the opportunity to start this topic! I have been practicing Iyengar yoga for a couple of years now and am trying to challenge myself a bit more at the moment. I am working on eka hasta bhujasana but finding it quite difficult to progress. I can’t seem to get my bottom leg off the floor for very long. When I am able, I get a really bad cramp in my quadricep which is very painful.
Does anyone else experience these issues? Have you found any way to make some progress with it?
Thanks!
Mike
Hi Mike,
What is very helpful for me is instead of “just lifting the straight leg up”(thats when the quads begin to cramp) work on pulling the leg back into hipsocket and up off floor(so make sure your hands are placed more forward of your hips) Happy practicing
It is a challenging pose, it helped to put my feet on blocks. Also as Katja stated pulling the leg back into hip socket. Don’t give up
