Focus

This week we are revisiting the kneeling backbend ustrasana (camel pose). The class highlights fundamental actions of the classical pose and also explores some supported variations. It contains some chair adaptations that will help to support your neck and improve opening in your thoracic spine. The class progressively develops towards a classical practice of ustrasana without the assistance of props, but emphasises ways of doing this without placing strain on your lower back or neck. It will have therapeutic benefits but will also be beneficial for deepening your general understanding of this energising backbend.
