Chair twists are great poses for improving your spinal mobility and back health. This 30 minute, tutorial style class focuses exclusively on chair twists. Initially the chair is incorporated into standing twists. Basic concepts are introduced in these standing positions and then consolidated once you progress to seated postures. Several versions of bharadvajasana are eventually included. The frame of the chair gives you incremental control over the twisting action of your spine in these seated twists. In addition to mobilising your spine some of these poses will also help to open your shoulders. Chair twists can be great for releasing tension from your back, but also your whole body.
