Focus

Backbends using a chair. This class explores the fundamentals of chair backbends. In addition to consolidating the basics this class focuses on exploring ways of using a chair to improve your dwi pada viparita dandasana. This particular pose is broken down into a series of clearly defined stages that progressively build towards the full pose. Chair backbends are supported poses that allow you to practice both actively and passively. The passive approach will be well suited to restorative sequences during times when you have lower energy levels. When working more actively you are able to use the support of the chair to stay longer, and penetrate more deeply and consciously into the poses.
