This class presents a restorative yoga sequence that can be practiced using just two yoga blocks. Restorative poses often involve elaborate setups with chairs, bolsters, blankets and belts, but many of their essential benefits can also be experienced with much simpler arrangements. This sequence explores supported variations of Setu Bandha Sarvangasana, Viparita Karani, Viparita Dandasana and Savasana, using minimal equipment to create support and encourage relaxation. The class is particularly useful when travelling, practising away from home or simply wanting a restorative session without the time and effort of organising multiple props. The poses focus on gently opening the chest and upper back, releasing physical tension and creating conditions that encourage the nervous system to settle. They offer an opportunity to restore energy during periods of fatigue or stress without the need for complicated setups. Working with fewer props also brings greater clarity to the essential actions and alignment principles of each pose, helping to develop a deeper understanding of how support can be used effectively. This practical, accessible approach makes it easier to incorporate restorative yoga into your regular practice, wherever you happen to be.
