About
This 80-minute restorative class is designed to open and release the diaphragm, enhancing breath awareness and freedom. Drawing from a wide range of Iyengar Yoga asana groups, the sequence includes supported standing poses that promote stability and balance – allowing you to focus on subtle diaphragmatic alignment often overlooked in more active practice. Carefully adapted forward bends use props to create space in the chest and upper abdomen, encouraging a smoother, more even breath. The class culminates in classical chest-opening restoratives such as Cross-Bolsters Viparita Dandasana, Setu Bandha Sarvangasana, and Viparita Karani. Each pose is presented with detailed prop optimisation to gently deepen your breath and restore energy. Suitable for both intermediate and experienced practitioners, this practice provides a comprehensive and calming exploration of the diaphragm region through the lens of restorative Iyengar Yoga.
